JUNIOR PACKHOUSE MANAGER – FM1953

Sedgefield Area – Western Cape: Our client is looking for a Junior Packhouse Manager to join the team.

This is a ‘LIVE OUT’ position.

Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Previous packhouse experience including preparation and undertaking of audits for retailers
Knowledge of BRC, HACCP, and Global GAP accreditation advantageous
Production and management experience
Computer literate
Work with IT systems and packaging machinery
Must be able to maintain meticulous record keeping and health and safety standards
Be able to communicate effectively with other team members such as the harvesting staff, greenhouse manager as well as freight coordination
Be able to manage a diverse team of people
Recognise training requirements within the pack line and prioritise the individual improvement of each team member
Must be available to work on occasional Saturdays
Non-smoker

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Identify and promote staff members who show good work ethic in the packhouse
Minimise non-productive time and incentivise productivity in the pack line
Monitor food safety and security concerns
Help in transport of staff for early/late shifts
Train staff in quality control and maintain efficiency of the pack line
Monitor and maintain stock levels of all packaging material as well as place orders with suppliers in a timely manner
