Moamba Area, Maputo – Mozambique- Our client is looking for a Financial Manager to join the team.

  •  Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting management systems.
  • Experience in agricultural business, preferably sub-tropical tree crops.
  • Internationally recognized Accounting Qualification (CA, ACA, CIMA, CPA) highly advatageous
  • Proven experience in financial management
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite


  • Taking responsibility for the full financial management function of the business including cash and equivalents, debtors, creditors, inventory, payroll, taxes and controls surrounding these functions to address business and financial risks.
  • Implementing and monitoring of all internal control systems (procurement policy and inventory control)
  • Ensuring internal reporting deadlines are adhered to and any delays or constraints are communicated and addressed timeously.
  • Optimally managing cash and payments, including preparation of a weekly cash forecast
  • Management of all import and export DU’s
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and dashboards, variance analysis
  • Maintenance of the Fixed asset registers – depreciation calculation and journals (including biological assets)
  • Interest calculations and accruals
  • Leasing schedules kept up to date and split between current/non-current for reporting purposes
  • Facilitating external audits and financial statement preparations.
  • Review of the business GL reconciliation with supporting documents
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Ensuring record keeping and related administrative tasks
  • Responsible for the HR function at the business, review of all wage contracts, payroll preparation and work permits
  • Responsible company compliance, government liaison and statutory audits (Water Concessions, Acquisition of DUATs, environmental audits and licensing etc)
  • Community liaison – Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Registration of agreements and updating of company secretarial and legal documents
  • Directors resolutions and notarisation
  • Responsible for the preparation of the monthly tax accounts and annual submission
  • Responsible for the preparation of the annual income tax and fiscal benefits returns
  • APIEX renewal
  • Responsible for submission of VAT returns and request for refunds
  • The business witholding tax procedures
  • Banking and financing (Local banks, Central bank)
  • Assist in agricultural certifications (Global GAP, Farming for the Future, SMITA)
  • Management of all company insurance policies
