MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and statutory submissions.
  • Experience with payroll processing and HR administration.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements in the agricultural or food industry (advantageous).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

Finance & Bookkeeping:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and process transactions efficiently.
  • Reconcile accounts, bank statements, and financial reports.
  • Prepare and submit statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, UIF, etc.) on time.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting.

Packhouse Administration & Compliance:

  • Support daily packhouse operations to ensure smooth workflow.
    Assist with compliance documentation for avocado and kiwi industry standards.
  • Prepare for and support external audits and inspections.
  • Maintain records related to food safety, quality control, and compliance

Payroll & HR Duties:

  • Process payroll accurately and ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain employee records, contracts, and leave schedules.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and general HR administration.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and workplace regulations.
